This week we started choosing our mastermind groups.

Do you know what a mastermind group is?

It is a group of people who come together for the express purpose of helping and supporting each other to achieve their goals and live the life of their dreams.

I was very excited about the thought of being in a mastermind group because I feel the accountability will be in valuable. When it is just me it is so easy to have good intentions but also to let them be swept under the carpet and promise myself tomorrow.

But with a mastermind group I have to state what it is I want to do this week, knowing that next week I am going to have to report on what I have and have not done. This is a huge incentive to get off my butt and do what I say I’m going to.

Your mastermind group will also support you when things are tough and can be a great place for resources when you’re not sure where to turn.

It is so nice to know that some one out there cares and has your back but does not have emotional attachment to you achieving your dreams. They can also help you to see a different point of view and hopefully help you stay light and happy even in the face of difficulties.

If you would like to part of your own mastermind group you need to find some different but like minded people. If you are working with the law of attraction then I think it is important to find others who are also working with it too. Or if you belong to a particular religious group you may want to look there for positive up lifting people to join with. It is important that you have some sort of core beliefs in common that you are all working with.

One way to met people is to hang out at forums and chat, you can get to know people first and then you can privately ask them if they would like to be in a mastermind group with you.

I’m already loving my group and we haven’t even had our first phone call yet.

Our group is 6 in number and we are all fun loving and creative. I am the only Australian the others are Canadian and American but we have found a time that we can talk on the phone once a week we also use online chatting, group emails and a private forum. Now days there are so many ways to stay in touch.

You can have a mastermind of just 2 or up to 7 – we decided on 6 because we felt that was a good number for resources and contacts but small enough that we could really get to know each other and support each other.

Once we start the calls they will follow a similar format each week. We will start with our wins for the week, then results of our goals from the previous week, then state our goals for the following week. Each call will end by asking if anyone needs any support, help or encouragement. This could be simple in the form of pats on the back or maybe a brainstorming session to help when one is stuck.
